August 2009 | bePod Take Off!

MSL collaborates with EMO and pilots Brand Experience Pod (bePod) for NHS Stop Smoking Campaign

Working with Bristol-based local marketing agency EMO, we designed and constructed a Brand Experience Pod (bePod) to support an NHS experiential campaign targeting young women to raise awareness of the effects of smoking on skin and the ageing process.


Our bePods offer the perfect solution for experiential street activity: the open configuration, sited at ground level, increases accessibility and is inviting to passers by. We worked together with EMO from conceptualisation through manufacture to managing logistics, installation and distributing promotional materials.
The client conducted two pilot schemes: our bePod in Sheffield's City Centre; and a temporary smaller installation in a major high street retailer in Bristol. The results and feedback from the client were extremely positive. The campaign was especially successful with the bePod campaign resulting in a higher sign-up rate of young women seeking support.
The client was very satisfied with the solution we provided and we have secured work on future campaigns as a result.

July 2009 | Teeing off at Turnberry

MSL supports clients at major UK golf tournaments

July saw a mass exodus of vehicles and equipment from our operations base in Hampshire to support clients at this summers major UK golf tournaments. First stop, The Open Championship, held at the Scottish resort of Turnberry, where we were running operations for two long standing clients; Lexus and IMG Media. In all, we delivered nine articulated vehicles to support the separate operations.

For Lexus, we constructed their main exhibition display, comprising a 20mx20m raised platform and incorporating one of the Lexus exhibition trailers. We also created a 3.5m tall branded wall to act as a backdrop to the display on which the Lexus range was presented. We also provided an additional two Lexus exhibition trailers, including our MSL8 unit, to create additional brand presence around the venue and MSL9 hospitality coach as an operations base.

Our crew catering division was also at Turnberry to feed the American TV crews covering the event. Utilising our MSL4 kitchen trailer and double awning setup, we catered for 240 crew each day and provided over 2,700 meals throughout the course of the week.

Our team then travelled direct to Sunningdale for the Seniors Open and from there onto Lytham St Annes for the Ladies Open where we utilised our smaller MSL7.

June 2009 | Pedals Ready...

MSL supports extended Nocturne Cycling Series
For the second year running we supplied our MSL9 hospitality unit and awning to sports marketing agency Face Partnership to form the hub of the hospitality area at the Smithfield Nocturne cycling event in Central London with VIP attendees including Sir Paul Smith and Jeff Banks.

The event is held on the streets around London City's Smithfield market. Our challenge was timing; once roads were closed to traffic, there was only a short period of time to configure the events' infrastructure. Our unit and awning is the perfect solution in this environment with the internal office space also utilised by the Face team to coordinate the event and hold meetings.
In addition to the Smithfield event, we will also be sending the unit to Lancashire in August for the inaugural Blackpool Nocturne.

MSL & Couture launch at Pinewood Studios
Building on our existing relationship with Pinewood Studios, we have now formed a partnership with Couture (on-site caterers at the studios) to provide a stage and location catering service.

MSL wins new business with Renault F1
Completing a very successful start to 2009, in January, we were awarded a six-figure contract to provide the Renault F1 team with a new hospitality facility.

In order for unit to meet the specific requirements of the team, we produced schematics of alternative layouts and upon approval by Renault, undertook an extensive refurbishment programme of our MSL10 unit in a very short period of time to prepare it for the first European Grand Prix of the 2009 season in Barcelona.

The two trailers that make up the facility provide five individual office spaces, dining area, kitchen, WC and covered roof terrace for VIP guests and sponsors.

January 2009 | Testing, Testing...

MSL wins new business with Williams F1
Following a competitive tender process, MSL have been awarded a six-figure contract to supply the Williams Formula One team with catering services for the 2009 testing season.

A key element of our offer was the provision of a mobile kitchen trailer that enabled us to reduce the time taken to setup the hospitality facility at each venue while giving our chefs all the equipment they need to produce over 4,500 meals for the Williams drivers, mechanics and engineers throughout the testing season.

The gruelling schedule will see our logistics team travelling racking up almost 5,000 miles on the autoroutes along the Spanish Costas and Portuguese Algarve. In addition to operating the Williams motorhome, we will be supplying one of our 18 tonne support trucks that will tow our MSL7 kitchen trailer and transport the ancillary hospitality equipment.

October 2008 | Top Marks for MSL

MSL completes Nissan Race Academy tour
Working with Silverstone Events, MSL were appointed to deliver a variety of event solutions to support the inaugural Nissan Race Academy. Conceived to provide a best-in-class driving experience for pre-order customers of the new Nissan GT-R supercar, the 11 week programme was staged at Silverstone and legendary German track, The Nurburgring.

Several operational divisions of MSL were involved in the project.
- Our rental fleet supplied two hospitality vehicles, MSL4 & MSL9 which provided office space for the organisers and kitchen facilities to prepare top quality cuisine for the invited customers;

- Our event support team were charged with delivering and setting up the units at each circuit, transporting the 18 Race Academy cars and 800 helmets to and from the West German venue and valeting the vehicles before and after the daily driving activities;

- Our hospitality team provided the 60 daily guests with breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea and a separate 'express' menu for the 30 support staff for lunch on-the-go.
