FLEET LOGISTICS
Permanent, full time
About the role
At MSL, we collaborate with leading global brands to design, build and deliver memorable live events, from exhibitions and trade shows to roadshows and product placements across the UK.
Getting every one of those events on the road depends on our fleet. As our Fleet Logistics Manager, you’ll be responsible for every vehicle and every journey, making sure the right vehicle is ready for every event and that transport is delivered on time, safely and cost-efficiently, for both MSL and our clients.
This isn’t a traditional transport haulage role. You’ll work side by side with our project, creative, warehouse and client teams to understand what each event needs and make it happen, while owning the compliance and safety of the fleet and managing our drivers and fleet technician. Plans change quickly in live events, so you’ll be the one who stays calm, thinks on their feet and finds a way through.
This role suits a natural people person and problem solver who builds strong relationships across every department, not just with the vehicles. In return, you’ll be part of a busy events business working with some of the biggest brands in the automotive world.
Key responsibilities
- Fleet Management: Own the maintenance, servicing and repair of every company and client vehicle, managing our in-house fleet technician and external garages to minimise downtime. Keep vehicles safely stored, secure and well organised across our sites, and plan fleet needs around the event calendar.
- Vehicle Compliance & Insurance: Own the legal compliance of the whole fleet, including MOTs, inspections, tax, insurance and operator licence requirements. Keep audit-ready records and make sure no vehicle goes out unless it’s safe and compliant.
- Driver Management: Oversee all drivers, including licence checks, training, conduct and working-time limits, making sure they represent MSL safely and professionally on the road and at client sites.
- Event Logistics: Own transport planning and the transport budget for every event, working closely with project teams to match the right vehicle to each event brief and deliver on time and within cost.
- Fleet Reporting: Report on fleet KPIs such as utilisation, downtime, compliance to the Head of Operations, tracking spend against budget and identifying efficiency improvements.
